Bob Long ... never stop learning"
I am a retired educator from Chilliwack, B.C. with a passion for adventure and learning. For this reason, I like to encourage other people of all ages to ‘step outside the box’ to participate in this amazing world in which we live. I believe that the world is our ‘authentic’ classroom and I use outdoor activities and travel as vehicles to access that classroom. Through this website I will share some of my experiences with the hope that they will be a catalyst for new learning for viewers.
I have recently stepped outside of ‘my comfortable retirement’ to work with the British Columbia Canadian International School in Cairo, Egypt. This new adventure means living in Maadi, a suburb of Cairo, for an extended period of time during which I look forward to getting to know the nature of the school, students, staff, community and ultimately country of Egypt. I will be sharing information about my experiences in Egypt through regular blog posts.
As a function of my work with the school I will also post information about BCCIS and employment opportunities for teachers and administrators who are interested in the realm of international education.
